A hormone imbalance is one of the most common causes of acne breakouts, whether the imbalance is caused by stress, diet or puberty. Adult acne can also be exacerbated by environmental aggressors such as pollution and UV rays.
Essentially, adult acne is caused by overactive sebaceous glands which produce too much oil and clog the hair follicle and blocking oxygen from entering, resulting in an increase in bacteria in the pore, leading to swelling, inflammation and acne. In order to treat acne, it’s important to get to the root of the cause and control the sebaceous gland, promote the exfoliation of dead skin cells, kill bacteria and soothe inflammation; which is exactly what Dermalogica’s Acne Treatments have been formulated to do.
Dermaogica’s Overnight Clearing Gel has been formulated to clear the skin, calm inflammation and prevent future breakouts. The gel works to reduce excess sebum and eliminate bacteria that cause congestion with the expert blend of Salicylic Acid, Zinc, Yeast, Caffeine and Tea Tree Oil.
Simply apply a thin layer all over cleansed and toned skin before bed and wait until it has absorbed. In the morning, simply wash off with the Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash upon waking.
Clear your complexion with the Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque. The soothing treatment has been specifically formulated for oily and combination skin to refresh and refine the complexion. The blend of oil absorbing clays and Salicylic Acid work to detox the skin, unclog the pores and provide a natural exfoliation, while the specially selected blend of cooling botanical extracts work to alleviate redness and irritation to leave the skin looking more balanced and radiant.
Simply apply an even layer to cleansed face and throat up to three times a week and leave it to work its magic for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Alternatively, use as a spot treatment to target pesky spots and breakouts.
